FOR: FSC MEMBERS AND FRIENDS FROM:
DICK DINGMAN Recent lobbying scandals have, predictably, resulted in several new bills being introduced for government regulations. The spin from legislators is that new regulations are needed to "fix" the problem of undue influence. Attached is a memorandum prepared by attorneys Bill Olson and Herb Titus, that provides an analysis of four of the new bills. Free speech will undoubtedly take another hit, and the Members of Congress will find new ways to further stifle communications from their constituents. As the legislative process begins to play out, FSC will keep you advised of matters needing your attention. We would welcome your thoughts on these issues. |
